Earn up to 4x Chase Ultimate Rewards at Disney Theme Parks

Visiting a Disney theme park is expensive. There aren’t many discounts available so you want to try to maximize the amount of points you get back on the money you’re going to be spending anyway. I was at Disneyland yesterday and was reminded of an easy way to get extra points. I’m really mad at myself that I didn’t think of it right away.

To get an additional point per $1 spent, simply use your Sapphire card in Chase Pay®, Android Pay, Apple Pay® or Samsung Pay between Oct. 4 and Nov. 4, 2017. You will earn an additional point per $1 spent on purchases up to $1,500 in addition to the points you already earn.1

Up to November 4th, Chase will give you an additional point for all purchases using your mobile wallet. Just set up to make payments with your Sapphire card. The bonus points show up immediately on your statement so there’s no waiting to see if the points post correctly.

If you weren’t aware, most of the locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World accept mobile payments, even if the cashiers aren’t always aware that they do. I noticed when paying for lunch that the mobile payments symbol lit up but the cashier told me to “Swipe your card please.”

It didn’t dawn on me to use my Apple Pay until I was getting ice cream later that night, for dinner. Yes, ice cream for dinner. It’s Disney, no judging allowed. The person behind me in line was commenting about how he just used his Apple Pay and the cashier was amazed how it worked.

So you should be able to pay with your mobile payment device (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay or Chase Pay) and get a extra point for all those purchases. Double points for all your Mickey Mouse t-shirts, lightsabers and Captain America shields can add up quickly. Earning up to four times points for food purchased the parks can also give your Ultimate Rewards balance a big boost (Sapphire and Sapphire Preferred earn double points for dining while the Sapphire Reserve earns triple points). I’ve found that Disney locations are very good at coding correctly and even the carts will credit to the proper category and earn the correct amount of points. This is great news if you’re planning on going to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. You can earn the bonus on all the food (and wine and other beverages too).

Unfortunately, I don’t think that you’ll be able to get the bonus at any of the table service restaurants, as they usually take your card to swipe it. Even with that, this is an great (AND EASY) way to earn some extra Chase Ultimate Rewards while at the Disney theme parks.
