Disneyland Is The Happiest Place On Earth – But Maybe Not The One You’d Think

a colorful castle with many different designs

Disneyland’s tagline is that it’s “The Happiest Place On Earth” and for a long time, it appeared that it really was. But the original Disney park, opened in 1955, may have to give up that title because a popular social media site has determined another place is happier.

WHAT?

Yup.

As it turns out, Instagram, the photo- and video-sharing site owned by Facebook released its 2018 Year In Review not long ago and determined that Disneyland was the happiest place on earth. Except it wasn’t THE Disneyland.

It was one that’s farther east.

MUCH farther east.

It was Tokyo Disneyland.

{{{THUD}}}

I know, right???

But yeah…Tokyo Disneyland was determined by Instagram to be the “happiest geo-tagged place in the world.” The title was based on the number of smiley face emojis used in Instagram to caption images of the park.

Sorry, Disneyland. 🙁
