Trump Hotel Named World’s Best Luxury Hotel? Well, Maybe.

An online magazine that touts itself as, “the ultimate showcase for five-star travel, fine dining, exclusive property, luxury cars, private jets, high end fashion, premium beauty and the very best in male grooming,” is reporting that a hotel owned by Donald Trump has been voted by its readers from across the globe as the best hotel in the world. This was confirmed by a tweet from the Trump Organization.

From U.K.-based Luxury Lifestyle Magazine:

He may not be everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to politics but one thing Donald Trump and co [sic] know is a good hotel. The best in fact. Trump International Hotel and Tower New York has claimed the top spot after being voted the best hotel in the world by readers of premium publication Luxury Lifestyle Magazine.

…He clearly divides opinion on a political level but there is no question about it, Trump is a master hotelier. He understands what super luxury is all about and delivers the very best experience possible, usually exceeding expectations. The TV reality star employs only the very best hotel staff and this ensures he can offer guests the most enjoyable of stays.

Voters from across the globe showed their appreciation of the U.S president’s lavish five-star hotel in the big apple by voting in their thousands to put his luxury establishment on top of the world.

According to the publication, 74,915 of the magazine’s readers voted that the top 10 best hotels in the world are:

  1. Trump International Hotel and Tower, New York
  2. Vatuvara Private Island, Fiji
  3. Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi
  4. Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai
  5. Sheraton Maldives Fill Moon Resort & Spa
  6. Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas
  7. The Langham, Sydney, Australia
  8. The Dorchester, London
  9. Trump International Hotel Washington D.C.
  10. The Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, Basel, Switzerland

Granted, it’s usually not a brand that you see winning awards from swanky travel magazines. I mean, Travel & Leisure doesn’t mention the brand in their Top 25 and it’s not included in the most recent Conde Naste Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards of  “Best Hotels in The World,” either. Yet Luxury Lifestyle Magazine’s readers apparently found 2 of the brand’s properties worthy enough to be in their top ten – and one of them to be their #1 pick.

Interesting.

However we did notice a few things…

Now, I suppose it’s possible that this Luxury Lifestyle Magazine is 100% legit and they really did get 74,915 of their readers (the vast majority of which apparently don’t care about what they do or say on Twitter or Instagram?) to vote for “best ofs.” But….I dunno.

What do you think?
