Where Should I Use My Hyatt Free Night Certificates?

a building with a sign

I’m not as familiar with Hyatt as I am with other hotel brands like Marriott and IHG. It was only last year when I signed up for the World of Hyatt credit card that I really started paying attention to what could be done with its points.

Now that I’ve hit my first anniversary, I’m getting a free night certificate good at any category 1-4 hotel. I already have one of these certificates in my account because I spent over $15,000 on the card last year.

I know that with other cards, like the IHG Premier of the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, the free nights are not redeemable for more desirable locations. Most big-city hotels are way out of reach. For example, no IHG hotel in Manhattan is bookable for 50,000 points or less.

Turns out, that’s not true with Hyatt. So I was wondering what are some of your favorite properties to take advantage of your Hyatt free night certificates?

I noticed that the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe was on the list. We’ve already stayed here and loved the location, so I’m hoping there will be some other nice places on the list.

There are also several hotels in Orlando near Disney World and Universal to use the free nights, but since we live there, I don’t need to stay there.

On a quick look, some properties looked interesting.

The Andaz Savannah is a category 4 hotel.

As is the Hyatt Centric French Quarter in New Orleans

We love going to the Texas Hill Country so it was nice to see the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa as a category 4 hotel.

There’s even a New York hotel on the list, Gild Hall located Downtown near the Financial District.

Those are only some of the category 4 hotels on the list in the US. There are plenty more around the world, and that’s not including the category 3 properties, some of which look just as nice at the others but in less popular locations.

Final Thoughts

I’ve been resigned to finding places to use my free night certificates from other credit cards at places like the Knoxville Airport Courtyard by Marriott. Being able to use it in major cities and resort properties isn’t something I’m used to, and I’m getting paralyzed by the number of choices I have. Let me know what some of your favorite places to use your free nights are in the comments!
