Travelers are always looking for the cheapest flights. Flash sales. Promo codes. Mistake fares. They thrive on websites like Skiplagged. They look at alternate airports to help them to save. They’ll read articles with titles like How To Find Cheap Airfare or How To Look For The Cheapest Round Trip Fare.
If you’re one of those people who always search for the flight that costs the least, and especially if you’re good at it, I’ve found a challenge for you that could potentially win you $10,000.
You may have heard that the MIT Senseable City Laboratory in Singapore has developed Escape, which is an interactive map that searches sites such as Skyscanner and Kayak, and then shows you the cheapest, quickest, and most popular flights in the world from any destination.
Escape is currently running a challenge: through March 15, they want you to plan a trip that stops in every continent except Antarctica. Plan it as cheaply as possible, using all of your talents to get the best deals to get you all around the world. The 25 people who plan the cheapest trips will win free flights up to $500. The person with THE cheapest groups of flights will win $10,000 (and the site has a real-time leaderboard, so you know how you’re doing compared to everyone else).
Click here to get to Escape’s home page and then click on the link for their $10,000 World Tour challenge. Good luck!
