TSA Officer Caught Treating Others As She Was Treated

There’s usually not a whole lot of good stuff said about TSA officers. More often than not you’ll hear stories about them being rude, mean, uncaring, too loud, bossy, etc. Of course, they probably have a good reason for acting the way they do. Oh sure, you’ll occasionally read about something like what this guy does, but those happier stories are few and far between.

Welp, you can add one more to the pile.

Samantha Mudge is a TSA supervisor in Baltimore. As a 13-year veteran of the TSA, she was, of course, without a paycheck during the 35 days that became the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

“So many people helped us during the government furlough,” said Mudge. “So I felt that I needed to do something to support others.”

At first, she crocheted masks for the Calvert County Sheriff’s Department. She made 25 of them and dropped them off with a bunch of food from some local stores.

But she still wanted to do more. So she got her stimulus check, she decided to use the money to “pay back” society, just as society had helped her during the 2018-2019 government shutdown. So she bought fabric so she could sew masks, yarn so she could crochet masks, and food to donate.

The donated food went first. She then sewed 50 masks and donated them to the CalvertHealth Medical Center in Calvert County. She also gave 30 masks to her local Walmart pharmacy because the pharmacy staff there had no masks (WTG, Walmart!). And finally, she gave the rest of her masks to the healthcare workers who were getting takeout from a local restaurant.

Mudge remembered what it was like to be helped when she was in need. She’s now turned that around and given back.
