Even During A COVID Quarantine, Travelers Show Their Sense of Humor

There’s not a whole lot of good that can come from a worldwide pandemic, but there are a couple of things. There’s the hope that people will begin realizing and caring that their choices and actions affect others (nose and mouth, meet facial covering). Similarly, when we’re all done with this, perhaps folks will still wash their hands more often. And, well, there’s this potential good thing ;-).

Different people have handled their respective COVID-19 lockdowns, quarantines, and stay-at-home orders in different ways. Some buried themselves in TV and movies. Others discovered or re-discovered hobbies. Some have learned the joys (or not) of working from home. And some used their sense of humor for good.

Cases in point…

Joe and I run a Facebook group that, as of this writing, has just about 13,500 members. It’s a forum for all things travel. We share news and articles about hotels, airlines, points & miles, airports, foreign countries, funny travel stories, cruises, road trips, etc. People are encouraged to ask questions or share info about their own travels. We have a daily deal where people can save money on travel-related things, etc. We also share a travel-related meme per day that’s travel related. Some of them are more inspirational, like these:

But more often we’ll post some sort of funny meme that we’ve found along the way…

Welp, the people who write memes must be working overtime when it comes to the Novel 2019 Coronavirus, because we’ve found some really funny ones in the past couple of months…

There are the memes that pay heed to where we’ve been “going” recently:

And when we can’t remember the last time we took our suitcase anywhere:

There are the memes that reflect our thoughts about the “would haves” and “could haves,” and well as what we’re missing:

And the ones about the airlines:

We might even play silly internet games about travel:

Almost all of us are missing travel. Some of us maybe too much:

And we all dream of that day we can safely travel again:

May the days of safe travel come quickly and cheaply for all of us. And I won’t even cringe if this happens:
