If you’ve traveled through a major airport, chances are you’ve spotted a Best Buy Kiosk. Previously called Best Buy Express kiosks, they’ve been around since 2008 and there are over 200 of them in airports all across the country.
Best Buy Kiosks are like any other traditional vending machine. But instead of selling soft drinks, candy bars and salty snacks, it sells what someone might need or want while traveling. That might be headphones, chargers or other things you may have forgotten to pack. Or maybe you’ve decided to splurge and buy a GoPro on the fly (you see what I did there?).
Whatever the case, the stuff in the Best Buy kiosks are technically supposed to cost the same as what they’d be in the local Best Buy store. But even Best Buy admits that they “may vary from certain Best Buy stores, online or advertised prices.”
Of course, that variance will never be cheaper than what’s in the store ;-). So if you wind up with a price at the Best Buy Kiosk that’s more than the local in-store price, hold onto your receipt because Best Buy has a price match guarantee. It even says so on their website:
Price Match Guarantee.
Hang on to your receipt and we’ll match lower prices from our stores and BestBuy.com.
If you click on that link, Best Buy explains it all. Just go down to their Frequently Asked Questions and you get to this one:
Is the Price Match Guarantee the same for purchases from Best Buy Express Kiosks?
