I love researching and making travel plans. Next to traveling, it’s one of my favorite pastimes. It’s a proven fact that planning for travel releases the same brain chemicals as travel itself.
I’ve learned there’s a limit you reach where additional research isn’t going to make any difference and while I might find a slightly cheaper rate or nicer place, it’s not worth looking for days to find it.
In the midst of all of the planning, you’ll occasionally find a hidden gem on a website. Much like an easter egg in a movie, it’s something that most people won’t get but those who do will appreciate the reference.
I’ve recently been spending quite a lot of time on the Hyatt website. Today, I had it up and noticed that the home page would cycle through a list of places you can explore. For example, the website is currently telling me to Try “Miami.”
The list of other locations was a mix of aspirational and leisure destinations.
- LAX
- French Quarter
- Regency Waikiki
- CDG
- Shibuya
- New York City
- Bondi Beach
- Downing Street
- DXB
Then there was one that stuck out as being super-specific
I know a number of you already know what’s located at 1060 W Addison St. in Chicago.
For those of you who don’t, it’s the address for Wrigley Field.
I guess whoever coded the Hyatt website is a Cubs fan.
FWIW, I think it’s hilarious. Maybe not so much if you’re a Cardinals or White Sox fan. 🙂
