Earn $10 Amazon Credit With One Click (Targeted)

a logo with a smile

I’m always doubtful when I see offers for seemingly free money. I’ve been around and know there’s usually a catch or you’ll have to jump through several hoops to get the prize. I’m not going to click around a website for 15 minutes, looking for clues to earn a $5 credit on a purchase over $50.

But if it’s easy, I’m not going to pass up some free cash and this offer is just that, if you’re targeted for it.

I was surfing around Amazon and saw this ad.

Typically, the offers for Amazon credits involve linking your card and then paying with your card rewards. Just paying with $.01 from Discover or using 1 Membership Rewards point will trigger the offer. However, this one seemed different and only required making my Discover the default card for my Amazon account.

Clicking on the link brought me to a registration page.

I was shown a list of the credit cards I have on file (which also reminded me that I have to remove several empty gift cards from my account). I selected my Discover card.

Sure enough, I put one item in my cart and went to checkout. The $10 credit was there, as long as I used my Discover card for the payment.

As soon as you’ve completed your purchase, you can change the default card to whichever one you want. However, it might make sense to leave Discover as your payment method because it earns 5% cashback until the end of December. Don’t forget to register on the Discover website.

There is some legalese for you. Apparently, they’re sending emails to customers as well as display ads.

Offer only valid for invited Amazon customers who have received this offer directly from Amazon through email or online display advertisements, and to purchases made with an eligible Discover Card.

Promotional credit expires at 11:59 p.m. (PT) 1/31/2022.

I’d guess that they’re targeting people who have a Discover card on their account not set as the primary payment method. I leave my card on file because Discover runs offers like this on a semi-regular basis.
