Grammy-nominated R&B singer Ari Lennox was at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on Monday, where she was arrested by Dutch authorities.

The singer claimed that she was racially profiled and took to her official Twitter account to announce the same in a series of tweets.

Her first tweet, at 4:16am, said, “F**k Amsterdam security. They hate black people.”

This was followed by a handful of other tweets:

However as per Reuters, Dutch military police at the air said Lennox was arrested for “disturbing public order” while being under the influence of alcohol.

“Our unit found a woman full of emotions, that wouldn’t calm down,” said spokesman Robert van Kapel. “That’s why she had to be taken into custody.”

Dutch police were apparently aware of her tweets, but said their focus was on the investigation.

“I also read that she made an apology to the airline, but that’s not our concern,” police told ABC News on Monday. “Our concern is to get everything on paper and ask her why she made those threats.”

30-year-old Lennox, whose real name is Courtney Shanade Salter, is originally from Washington D.C. She was the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole’s record label, Dreamville Records. She’s a 3-time Soul Train Music Award nominee. Lennox also received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, along with other artists who had appeared on the album ‘Revenge of the Dreamers III’ that went on to top the US album charts in July 2019. She’s best known for her 2019 single, “Shea Butter.”

Lennox remains in custody, according to police. She has not updated her Twitter account since her arrest.
