Update On Woman Who Brought Peacock Onto A Plane Last Week

a peacock with its tail feathers spread

The internet was all atwitter last week when a Tiktok video of a woman on a plane, with a live peacock in her arms, went viral.

The video was posted by a Brian M. Torres. It shows a woman walking down the aisle of a plane, holding a peacock. She sat down and some anonymous voice asked, “Is that a service animal?”

The woman, wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt says, “Yeah.” And then there’s a close up of the peacock’s head looking around. Here’s the video:

As of this writing, the video has over 4 million views in just about a week. It also has over 41k replies that really run the gamut:

The first time I saw the video, my only thought was, “What the heck???” (actually, I said something significantly stronger than “heck” but we choose to not use or allow things that are NSFW on our blog). But as I looked at the video the second time, several things came to mind:

Something just wasn’t right, y’know?

So I started searching around the internet, and then found this video, which, surprise surprise, had a very familiar-looking woman holding a peacock:

THAT video was posted by Hannah Stocking, an American internet personality and actress, best known for her comedy videos on YouTube (she’s got something like 8 million YouTube followers).

So, mystery solved. And then Brian Torres posted this on his TikTok a day or two later:

I guess it’s something like the video of the woman who was breastfeeding her cat on a plane last year, using a movie set that looks like a plane (the Pam Am Experience is housed at a studio that has such a plane set).

The “real” video isn’t really my idea of humor but as the good blog says, Your Mileage May Vary. Anyway, at least the mystery of the peacock on the plane is solved.
