It’s been about two weeks since Delta SkyMiles and Starbucks Rewards announced a partnership where you could earn SkyMiles for your Starbucks purchases.
The programs are offering perks to link accounts and additional point-earning opportunities.
- 150 Starbucks Stars and 500 SkyMiles for linking accounts before 12/31/22
- Earn 1 Delta SkyMile per $1 spent at Starbucks
- Earn Double Starbucks stars on days when you have a Delta flight.
I have a Delta account and regularly visit Starbucks so I linked my accounts. While it’s not a large number of points, why not earn SkyMiles with no additional spending?
The 500 Delta miles for linking accounts arrived in my account within a day of linking accounts.
Since then, my Starbucks purchases have been posting 1 day after the purchase date.
On the other side of the arrangement, the 150 bonus stars still haven’t been deposited into my Starbucks account and it’s been almost a week since I linked accounts.
I wrote to the Starbucks Twitter account but haven’t heard anything back. If they’re that slow with posting the stars for linking accounts, I’m a bit worried about how they’ll award double stars on the days when you have a Delta flight.
I’m betting this isn’t a Delta issue because other co-brand partnerships with SkyMiles, like the bonus points for Lyft rides, post on both sides almost immediately.
Starbucks Rewards, please fix your problems and award 150 stars to those who have linked their Delta SkyMiles account to their Starbucks account.
If you want to link accounts, you can do so at either https://deltastarbucks.com/ or http://starbucksdelta.com/.
