If you earned 50 or more elite nights with Marriott Bonvoy, you qualified for Platinum Elite status. Besides being the sweet spot of the Bonvoy program, you also earn an Annual Choice Benefit.
You have several options to choose from:
- Get Suite Night Awards™ (five) to redeem for upgrades to select premium rooms or suites.
- Save 40% on a bed from your favorite hotel brand.
- Gift Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status to a family member or friend.
- Support UNICEF: Donate US$100 to support children worldwide, including those impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
- Support the Arne M. Sorenson Hospitality Fund: Donate US$100.
- Support World Wildlife Fund (WWF): Donate US$100.
- Add Elite Night Credits (five) to get you closer to higher Elite status and enhanced benefits in 2022.
You only have until January 7, 2023 to make your selection by logging into your Marriott Bonvoy account at https://choice-benefit.marriott.com/signin.
If you don’tt choose, five Suite Night Awards will be deposited in your account as your selection.
The usefulness of the five Suite Night Awards depends on your travel patterns. We’ve had varying successes applying the awards to our reservations. For several stays, the upgrades didn’t clear. When they did, we got everything from a better view to a huge suite.
- Upgraded to a Junior Suite in London!
- Our upgrade to a room with a 3×6 balcony.
- Times Square view in New York.
Not to forget the time our friends used a Suite Night Award and got upgraded to the Presidential Suite on a private floor in Dallas.
Given the other options, I will take the Suite Night Awards. Even though the five I received last year are still sitting in our account. The only other option would be to take the 5 Elite Night Credits to bring us closer to Platinum for 2024.
