For a trip to Massachusetts, we needed to find a hotel near Westport, located about 30 miles southeast of Providence, RI. When looking for hotels outside major cities, your choices are limited, and the prices are often higher than expected. We’re OK staying at a mid-level chain from IHG, Marriott, Wyndham, Choice or Hilton for these trips.
I found a Hampton Inn that was in the right location. A 3-night stay was $680 or 90,000 Hilton Honors points. I used points, getting a decent value of 0.75 cents per Honors point.
Hampton Inn Fall River/Westport

The hotel was exactly what you’d expect from a Hampton Inn, with a few extras.
The lobby had a small grab & go section next to the front desk.
We received a room on the 4th floor.
The room had a king-size bed, a desk and a chair with a table. With all the furniture, the room was relatively compact.
There was just enough room to open the doors hiding the microwave, fridge and coffee maker. There were also a few baskets in the place of drawers.
The bathroom had a sliding door, as there wasn’t enough room for a regular door.
The bathroom wasn’t anything special. I’d say it was spartan with the white theme throughout.
Not a resort where you’d want to spend time in your room.
Like all Hampton Inn properties, there was a complimentary breakfast. There was a selection of hot and cold items. They also had a waffle maker with instructions on how to make a chicken & waffle sandwich.
The Hampton Inn did have an indoor pool with a hot tub, which I was not expecting.
There was also a small exercise room, a washer, and a dryer for guests.
Final Thoughts
This Hampton Inn delivered what it promised. While the room was a bit small, it checked all the boxes. The hotel breakfast was sufficient with more than cold cereal and danishes, but the area got crowded during the morning rush.
If we need to revisit the area, we’d stay here. With higher room prices than usual, we got a better-than-usual value for our Hilton Honors points.
