Can everyone agree that companies should not be allowed to make any important announcements on April 1st?
Either you’re stuck reading something and wondering if it’s real or not, or the company has to go out of its way to tell you this is not a joke. Like this Brightline email advertising BOGO tickets.
The same goes for news stories. All of these stories are real, but I could see how someone might feel that the story is a joke. Now if you say you redeemed Hilton Points for 2 CPP, I’d be pretty sure you’re lying 🙂
Final Thought
I don’t want to come off as someone who can’t appreciate a good joke. However, in today’s world, where deep fakes, AI-generated images, and fake accounts are rampant, companies should exercise caution when launching new products or campaigns on a day when people are most likely to question their authenticity.
However, I’d still like to fly on Virgin Atlantic’s glass-bottomed plane. 🙂
