Unveiling the Latest Chase Credit Card Spending Offers

Chase has been introducing spending offers for its credit card lineup every quarter. These offers used to be infrequent, but now a new one is rolled out as soon as the previous offer concludes. This introduction of offers is a positive trend. It seems that the value of the offers and the specific cards eligible are randomly chosen, although there must be an underlying methodology for the selection process.

This quarter I received offers on three of my Chase co-brand cards. Unfortunately, nothing was offered for my Hyatt or Disney cards.

The first offer was for our IHG Rewards Premier card.

We can earn 7X IHG One Rewards points at grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants on the first $1,000 in combined purchases across all categories.

Sharon received an offer on her Ritz Carlton Card.

The Marriott offer was similar to the IHG one, offering 5X Marriott Bonvoy points at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants on the first $1,000 in combined purchases across all categories.

These offers are close in value, around a 3.5% return, since I consider IHG points to be worth 1/2 cent each. Marriott Bonvoy points are worth a little more, and Frequent Miler recently updated the value to 0.7 cents each, which I’ve found to be around what I can get for them.

I found a third offer on my Southwest Priority card.

This offer is for 5X Southwest Rapid Rewards points on the first $1,000 spent at grocery stores, restaurants, and Amazon.com. I plan on taking advantage of this offer as I value Southwest points at 1.3 cents each. That’s a 6.5% return. We burned through a bunch of Rapid Rewards points this summer now that Southwest has brought back flights on the Orlando-Austin route.

Chase usually sends out emails to notify cardholders of these offers.

If you’d rather not wait, you can check your cards by going to https://www.chase.com/mybonus and entering your last name, the last 4 digits of your account, and your zip code.

I’ll check again in a few days, as Chase has staggered adding offers in the past. It only takes a minute or two to check.
