If you have several premium travel credit cards, you likely have more than one Priority Pass Select membership. Most cards are similar now that all but a few have removed the dining credit. However, it’s still important to know which Priority Pass card is linked to each of your credit cards because the guest access privileges are different. In addition, you need to have a Priority Pass card that’s linked to a Sapphire Reserve in order to access the Chase Sapphire Lounges.
I have separate log-ins for each of our accounts and have added the digital cards to my Apple Wallet. On a recent trip, I went to check into The Club MCO lounge and went to use the Priority Pass from my Sapphire Reserve, but it wasn’t there.
It wasn’t a problem, and I used another card instead, but I was curious as to what happened.
Priority Pass Select Cards Do Expire
Each Priority Pass card has an expiration date, which may not correspond to the expiry date of your credit card. For instance, the Chase Sapphire Reserve’s Priority Pass card is good for three years. Of course, if you close the credit card, your Priority Pass membership linked to that account is immediately canceled.
Upon inspection, my Chase Sapphire Reserve Priority Pass card was in the “Expired Passes” area in my Apple Wallet. I had to add the new card to my phone, but you need to delete the expired card before you can add a new one.
Final Thought
When you have a couple of Priority Pass cards in your digital wallet, it’s not a big deal if one of them expires. However, it would be a shame if you missed out on a lounge because your only card expired, and you never added the new one to your account.
