Uncovering the Secrets of Delta’s JFK Jitney at Terminal 4

a group of buses parked in a parking lot

Delta Airlines operates out of Terminal 4  at JFK Airport, which is a huge building. The walk from the TSA checkpoint to the gates at the very end of the terminal can take a while. When we were leaving the Chase Sapphire Lounge, which is in the main shopping area, heading to gate B55, the Delta app’s feature told us to walk toward the A gates. I thought this must be a glitch, so we walked all the way, getting our steps in for the day.

It turns out this wasn’t a mistake, as the app was trying to take us to the Delta JFK Jitney Bus!

The JFK Jitney

We had to use the Jitney back when Delta operated out of both Terminal 2 and Terminal 4, and we were connecting from a Delta flight to Virgin Atlantic.

I thought the Jitney had bit the dust when Terminal 2 closed as there was no need to get passengers between terminals post-security. However, Delta still runs the buses to bring passengers back and forth in Terminal 4.

There are Jitney stops near gates B55, B15 and A9.

The Jitney’s primary use is to transport passengers to the far end of Terminal 4’s B gates.

In the comments section, someone asked about the Jitney’s operating hours. There are no set hours, but it appears to run as long as there are flights leaving from both terminals.
