There have been “match” websites on the internet for almost as long as there’s been an internet. You have the regular ones, like Match.com, eharmony, OkCupid, Tinder, etc. But there are also some niche sites, such as Grindr, Christian Mingle, BeNaughty, Dating For Muggles, my420mate, Trekdating, PinkCupid, MatchGeeks and JewishMatch. The one match site that was missing was for Disney fans – for those who were looking for someone who could be their soulmate, would love Disney as much as them, and, of course, be their travel buddy for visits to Disney parks.
Over the years, there have been threads on all the major Disney bulletin boards and even entire groups on Facebook to try to help single Disney fans find a match, but it took a self-described “software geek” to go that extra step to help people find the Mickey or Minnie of their dreams.
Dave Tavres, a huge Disney fan, started developing MouseMingle.com in 2011, when he was looking for a mate who was also a big fan. “I found it hard to find women who were as interested in Disney as I am,” he told Los Angeles Magazine. “All the normal sites don’t have Disney questions,” So he developed one that did and it went live in 2015 🙂
MouseMingle is the place for people to connect who love Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, and all things Disney – who want that same magic in their relationships.
MouseMingle.com is dedicated to fans of all things Disney. Traditional internet dating sites don’t understand the passion people have for all things Disney. But we do!
MouseMingle is similar to a typical dating site, with profiles, photos and ratings you can customize, albeit sometimes with a Disney twist (i.e. besides questions you’d expect to find on a dating site, you’re also asked what Disney parks are closest to you and whether or not you have an annual pass), and then the site matches you with other Disney fans based your and others’ responses as well as mutual interest in friendship, dating or marriage.
The site recognizes those looking for either same or opposite sex relationships and if you’re not necessarily looking for love, but just a “park pal,” (someone to travel to any of the worldwide Disney parks with), that’s OK too. 😉
The website has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The View and Conan O’Brien, and has had write ups in Hollywood Reporter, TODAY.com, Mental Floss, Cosmopolitan, Time, The Guardian, The New York Times, and dozens of other publications.
