If you’re like us, you’ve realized an unexpected consequence of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus. We’ve been receiving a fraction of the junk mail we used to get. It’s been months since I’ve received a credit card offer in the mail.
While I end up putting many of these offers right into the shredder, occasionally I’ll get a targeted offer that we’ll take advantage of. But recently, nothing from Bank of America, TD Bank, Capital One or Chase. The same goes for offers from Delta Airlines, Frontier or United.
So you could imagine how I felt when I saw this show up in the mail today.
Alaska Airlines is sending out credit card offers again!!!!!
I don’t plan on getting an Alaska card. It took me long enough to find a use for the Alaska miles I earned the last time we signed up for this card. I was just happy that Bank of America felt good enough about the economy that they felt it was worthwhile to spend the money to send out mailers for its Alaska Airlines co-brand credit card.
Hopefully, I’ll start getting more offers in the mail. Maybe I’ll even get one that is lucrative enough that I’ll go ahead and sign up for the card. I just hit the spending requirements for the cards I got at the beginning of 2020, so I’m looking for a new card.
Getting credit card offers in the mail is just one more sign that things are slowly returning to normal. I don’t want to say that a single letter indicates that COVID-19 is a thing of the past, but anything that reminds me of the way things were gives me a small amount of comfort.
