One program I want to learn more about is Accor Live Limitless (ALL), the loyalty scheme of the Accor Group. What really piqued my interest was when ALL won Program of the Year and almost swept for hotels in the Europe/Africa region at this year’s Freddie Awards.
If you’re traveling outside of the Americas, Accor has a large footprint of hotels with a number of different brands.
These include luxury brands like Fairmont, Raffles and SLS, premium brands Pullman, Movenpick and Mondrian and economy brands like ibis.
Accor also is the parent company of Mama Shelter, the hotel that offers porn as in-room entertainment (and it’s FREE!).
We stayed at the Pullman Palm Cove Sea Temple Resort and Spa in Australia and it was a great base camp to explore Cairns and see the Great Barrier Reef.
There are plenty of other Accor hotels we’d like to visit. Like the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia, The Plaza Hotel in Manhattan and the Fairmont San Francisco (home of the Tonga Room Tiki Bar).
Now that Capital One has announced a 20% bonus on points transferred to Accor Live Limitless, what are the points worth and is it a good deal?
With the bonus, you can transfer 1,000 Capital One miles into 600 ALL Reward points.
In essence, Accor Live Limitless is a revenue-based hotel loyalty program.
2,000 ALL Reward points can be redeemed for €40 off your bill. At this moment, the US Dollar and the Euro are worth almost the same, so 2,000 points = $40.
Now we have to do some math.
If 2000 ALL Rewards points = €40 (or $40), then points are worth 2 cents each.
With the transfer bonus, 1000 Capital One miles is worth 600 ALL Rewards points.
Each Capital One mile will become 0.6 ALL points.
With each Capital One mile worth 0.6 ALL points and each ALL point worth 2 cents, you’re getting 1.2 CPP value with the transfer bonus.
If you were looking to book an Accor hotel through the Capital One Travel portal or planning to redeem Capital One miles to pay for a hotel stay at 1 cent per point, it would make sense to transfer points to Accor Live Limitless instead. Doing so will cost you 20% fewer points.
I’m sure there are plenty of other options to redeem Capital One points for more than 1.2 cents each but if you still have the 75,000 to 100,000 points in your account from the sign-up bonus from the Venture X, getting a 20% bonus for stays at Accor hotels isn’t a bad deal.
