New Sign Up Bonus For The No-Fee Disney Visa Credit Card

by joeheg

I’m a fan of the Disney Visa Card from Chase (but not a big fan of the redesigned Tinkerbell version of the card). I’ve had one since it was first introduced and have no intentions of getting rid of it. However, I don’t put much spending on it. The 1% back it pays back in Disney Rewards Dollars is not great in comparison to other no-fee credit cards. Instead, I keep it for the perks it provides:

  • 1% in reward dollars on everyday purchases
  • 10% savings on shopping of purchases of $50 or more at Disney Store or DisneyStore.com
  • 10% off select merchandise purchases of $50 or more at select locations at Walt Disney World and Disneyland
  • Disney Character Experiences and Star Wars Character Experiences at our private Cardmember locations at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. You’ll receive downloads of your photos to mark your visit
  • 10% off select dining locations most days at Disneyland and Walt Disney World
  • Special Financing following the purchase of select Disney vacation packages
  • Special Cardmember Events at Disney Store locations

The access to the special experiences at the Disney Theme Parks is enough to make this card valuable and I think it’s worth looking into for any Disney fan. So I was quite interested when I saw Chase had changed the sign up bonus for new cardmembers.

The current offer for new cardmembers for the Disney Visa Card is a $50 statement credit after the first use. However if you sign up using a referral link, like ours here, you’ll earn a $200 statement credit after spending $500 in purchases in the first three months from account opening.

We get a $100 Disney Reward Dollars for each referral. We would appreciate if you sign up using our link because referrals like that help pay the bills that keep the blog going.

The previous offer for this card was a $200 Disney Gift card. This change to the sign up bonus makes it a little easier to get your money and use it for whatever you want.

Statement credits are easier to use than a gift card because they’re just applied directly to your credit card bill. You can still use them to pay for your Disney vacation but you’ll also be able to use them to pay for dinner off Disney property or a stay just outside of Disneyland.

Remember, this $200 sign up bonus is for the no-fee version of the Disney Visa card. There’s also a Disney Premier Visa offering the same signup bonus but that version of the card charges a $49 annual fee. Remember to get the increased bonus on the no-fee card, please click on our referral link.

Here are the rules for getting the signup bonus:

$200 Statement Credit

This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months. You must apply using the application link on this page to be eligible for this offer. In some instances, an application may require additional time to process. To qualify and receive your $200 statement credit, you must make Purchases totaling $500 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.) To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. After qualifying, please allow up to 8 weeks for your credit to appear in your statement.

We hope you decide the no-fee Disney Visa credit card will be a good thing for you!

Can you use your Disney credit card for other purchases or does it have to be Disney affiliates? I understand no points will come with other purchases.

The Disney Card is a Visa card and can be used for any purchase where Visa is accepted. You’ll earn 1 cent per dollar spent in Disney Rewards.
