This Is Probably One Of The Coolest Cruises You Will Have Ever Heard Of

by SharonKurheg

Lots of people like cruising. Granted, I’m generally not one of them, but I know many people (including Joe) who are. Yet, for all of my not being thrilled with them, this cruise just intrigues me:

  • It’s 117 days/116 nights long
  • It goes all around the world
  • You stop at 43 destinations in 23 countries on 5 continents
  • 15 shore excursions are included

So yeah, I’m thinking this cruise might be better than stopping at Nassau and some woman asking me, “Hey Shorty, you want your hair braided?” (trust me, that is NOT the way to become my friend. It will get me to give you side eye, though. Just ask the woman in Nassau who tried that in 2001). Here’s more info…

This nearly-4-month long, around the world cruise is from MSC Cruises, on the MSC Magnifica. The itinerary includes Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Cape Verde, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, French Polynesia, Cook Islands, New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Oman and Jordan (see? No Nassau in the mix!), with a departure port in Genoa, Italy.

  2. Salvador, Brazil (Historical Salvador)
  3. Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (Sugar Loaf)

  5. Perto Montt, Chile (City tour of Puerto Montt & Puerto Varas)
  6. Arica, Chile (City tour & archeology)
  7. Callao/Lima, Peru (Lima highlights)
  8. Papeete, Tahiti (East Coast Tahiti – no museum)
  9. Auchland, New Zealand (Auckland Museum & city sights)

The 2019 cruise is already sold out but they are currently taking reservations for the 2020 cruise, which will depart Civitavecchia/Rome on January 4, 2020 (other embarkation ports include Genoa on January 5, Marseille on January 6 and Barcelona on January 7) and returns to Italy on April 30th. Go to MSC Cruises’ website for more info.
