The Snack Cart Will Be Refilled Correctly & All Will Be Right In The World. Well, Maybe. Sometimes.

Joe posted a link from View From The Wing over the summer, where Gary reported that Stroopwafels were being pulled from snack carts on United flights in favor of new maple flavored cookies. I lamented the loss about a week and a half later (over a rather large glass of Pinot Noir), since by that point it was about the only thing we still liked about United.

So imagine how I felt when I saw this on my Twitter feed the other day:

Woop woop for the return of the Stroop!

Now, is it enough to get us to fly on United again? Nope. They burned that bridge months and months ago. But especially not when one of their follow-up replies was:

So only at certain times. “In rotation.” Meh. I don’t want to look forward to getting a snack on a plane and then find out it’s the wrong week/month/quarter/whatever.

But that’s just me.

Meanwhile, the Twitterverse’s response to this was, shall we say, mixed? There were a whole lot of Stroopwafels fans who seemed thrilled with the return of their favorite United snack:

And then there were responses like these:

I guess you can’t please all of the people all of the time. 😉
