Happy Tuesday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Like so many others, I spent much of April 15th with a sense of dread, watching Notre Dame burn. As I write this, the first pictures of the inside of the Cathedral came out from the AFP and although the destruction is tragic, perhaps it’s oh-so-slightly less tragic than anticipated. If nothing else, this article, which shows how other huge, famous buildings were rebuilt, gives me a sense of hope. “It’s in our nature to mourn when we see history lost – but it’s also in our nature to rebuild for tomorrow, as strong as we can.”
- I thought it was kind of cool when Delta gave these out for free (do they still? Anyone know?). Joe and I don’t have kids but I think the free things Gary found other airlines are giving out are even cooler.
- Joe and I consider ourselves to be good tippers and we’ve tried to share the importance of appropriate tipping, with examples of just about any job title in any country, especially with those who are from countries where tipping isn’t the norm. Lucky (Ben) from One Mile At A Time gave some good info about tipping hotel housekeeping, and I’m glad that our post about tipping housekeeping was in the same ballpark ;-).
- RyanAir is one of those airlines that I won’t allow Joe to ever book us on. We’ve written all about why and even had some fun at the airline’s expense. So I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I saw The Flight Detective write about RyanAir doing the right thing (but I still won’t fly them).
- We’ve already given thoughts about how the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge could affect peoples’ Walt Disney World vacations. Bailee from Inside the Magic reports about what’s going to happen INSIDE the new park, in terms of Disney’s partnership with Coca-Cola and the cool new containers some of their drinks will come in.
- Changi Airport has won awards for Best Airport for years. But now it also has the title of the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. Not too shabby! Here’s what it looks like.
- I’ve been lucky to work under some AMAZING leaders, and I’ve also worked under a number of Stupidvisors, as well. There have several bosses in the mix, too, who rank in various places between the two ends of the spectrum. Because of the nature of my career, I never had to travel with any of them. If you ever do, this post on The C Boarding Group might be very helpful.
