When news leaked that JetBlue was going to change their onboard catering options from Coke products to Pepsi products, people acted like this was the end of the world, losing all sense of perspective.
Currently, these are the beverages available onboard JetBlue:
- Coke
- Diet Coke
- Coke Zero
- Sprite
- Sprite Zero
- Seagram’s Ginger Ale
- Seagram’s Seltzer Water
- Seagram’s Tonic Water
- Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail
- Ocean Spray Orange Juice
- Ocean Spray Apple Juice
- Ocean Spray Pineapple Juice
- Campbell’s Tomato Juice
- Mr. & Mrs. T Bloody Mary Mix
- Fuze Iced Tea
- Dasani Bottled Water
- Dunkin’ Coffee & Tea
Here are the products available after the changes take effect starting early June 2019:
- Pepsi
- Diet Pepsi
- Sierra Mist
- Sierra Mist Zero Sugar
- Bubbly Lime Sparkling Water
- Canada Dry Seltzer
- Canada Dry Tonic
- Canada Dry Ginger Ale
- Apple & Eve Juices
- Mr. & Mrs. T Bloody Mary Mix
- Aquafina Water poured into glasses from 1.5L bottles (starting Q1 2020)
- Dunkin’ Coffee & Tea
Now I am firmly in the #TeamCoke product camp, so I wasn’t a big fan of these changes. However, I didn’t lose it and start ranting on Twitter about the changes like these people, dubbing it #PepsiGate2019. Speaking in internet meme form:
No One:
JetBlue: “We’re refreshing our Core complimentary beverage lineup to offer customers exciting new product options they’ve asked for…”
So @JetBlue will be serving @pepsi on its flights instead of @CocaCola and I’ll never fly them again.
No, I’m not kidding. This is a deal-breaker. Suddenly I’m very happy that @Delta fought them coming to Atlanta for so long…https://t.co/HSbzG54xm5

@JetBlue #pepsi? What are we monsters? Bring back the #coke
— NathanEsq! (@nspathfinder) May 19, 2019
@JetBlue – Pepsi? Seriously? Ew!
For that alone it’s worth it to fly even with @AmericanAir
— Yosef (@JewishLogic) May 18, 2019
@JetBlue Pepsi is to soft drinks what Spirit is to airlines. Why do beancounter get to run airlines nowadays????

@JetBlue Say it ain’t so, Pepsi? Blech! We want Coke! Hope this isn’t a long term contract, you’ll see Coke fans are in the majority.

JetBlue switching to Pepsi in June is devastating news for my travel the rest of the year. @IDC is going to notice an uptick in Hudson news receipts in my expense reports…..

Is @JetBlue changing to Pepsi a deal-breaker? NO but I am disappointed that my favorite soda, Coke Zero, is no longer offered. As a Mosaic customer, this move is a bad one!

Delta: Keep Climbing
Alaska: Fly Smart, Land Happy
Hawaiian: The Spirit of Aloha
JetBlue: Is Pepsi OK? https://t.co/NltuWifdPc— Elliott Smith (@soundslikepuget) May 16, 2019
There were Pepsi fans who were thrilled with the news (even though they’re wrong).
I just might have to start flying @JetBlue more now! Way to go! Join the @pepsi revolution! #holla #borninthecarolinas

Yet another reason why @JetBlue is the best airline around. #Pepsi all day, every day https://t.co/r7w8JH5LJF

Jet Blue switching from Coke to Pepsi has now solidified them as my favorite airline.

@JetBlue yes! Switch to Pepsi is awesome!! @pepsi revolution! #mountaindew #7up

I prefer Pepsi tbh and very happy about this. Thanks JetBlue

And then there are the people who don’t seem to care either way
Soda News: Starting June 3rd, Jet Blue will switch from serving Coke to Pepsi.
No word on if Spirit and RC Cola have reached a deal yet.#soda #news #jetblue #coke #pepsihttps://t.co/yNcwAburpT

@JetBlue just saw you're making the switch to Pepsi! Please, please, pleaseeee tell me there will still be an iced tea 🙏🏻 as someone who doesn't like soda and gets tired of water I enjoyed being able to get it on board your planes
— Natalie (@hey_itsnataliek) May 17, 2019
Do you like Coke or Pepsi? I personally will be buying a bottle of Coke Zero to bring with me on the plane when flying JetBlue. I’ll still gladly take a better airline with deficient soda over a mediocre airline with my preferred carbonated beverage.
