Happy Saturday friends, and hooray, it’s finally the weekend! Here’s a recap of what’s gone on at YMMV this week. From what we’ve written to what others wrote that we really liked and wanted to share, it’s all here, in one convenient place!
Posts We Like
Once or twice a week we include links to travel articles and blog posts we’ve seen that we think might be interesting to our readers.
- On Sunday we posted links to articles about the hotel CEO that got into hot water, the airline that saved the day, resort fees are GOOD things?, the airline mechanic strike that’s causing issues, discount concert codes, is the newest Marriott Bonvoy card good for anyone, the hotel that got a $1.6M fine, and more. Click here to read all about it!
- On Wednesday we posted links about free booze on airline, how to reclaim resort fee money, LaGuardia (LGA) is getting WHAT for the summer? TSA screen without removing items in bags may be in our future, LAX’s Theme Building re-imagined?, cool pool may come to London, & more! Click here to read all about it!

- Joe wrote this post about Schlitterbahn water park: An open letter to the CEO of Cedar Fair: Don’t ruin our favorite water park! and as timing would have it, we flew to Texas to visit the park this week. It was Schlitterbahn’s 40th birthday and they had a party there on one of the days we were there. As we’re watching the festivities, a woman comes up to up, cell phone in hand, Your Mileage May Vary on the screen, and asks, “Excuse me…Is this you?” Turns out she’s the COO of Schlitterbahn. HOLY CRAP! They love the letter and forwarded it to the office of Cedar Fair’s CEO. {{{THUD}}} So just remember…if you ever write an open letter to someone, they may actually see it!
