The Captain of a United flight took control of the gate attendants’ microphone before a flight to thank the medical personnel who were going to board his plane. The moment was caught on video by CBS News Transportation Correspondent Kris Van Cleave.
Over the past few weeks, there’s been a call for medical personnel to travel to the New York tri-state area to help with the coronavirus pandemic.
There were several of these brave and altruistic medical professionals on a recent flight #2453, from Dulles to Newark Liberty. As it turned out, both the Captain and First Officer of that flight were married to nurses. With that in mind, the Captain took the microphone and made the following speech:
