One of the hardest websites to maximize points earning is Amazon.com. It makes sense, as the most popular online store doesn’t really need to give huge incentives for people to shop with them. So when American Express puts out an AMEX Offer for Amazon.com purchases, it’s a big deal.
This has to be a direct response to Citi’s recent offer of 10 ThankYou points per dollar for online purchases, including Amazon.
No matter the reason, if you buy anything at Amazon.com, go and check if this offer has loaded into any of your accounts that earn Membership Rewards.
Get 5 additional Membership Rewards points for each dollar spent on eligible purchases made using your enrolled Card online at Amazon.com by 7/22/2020. Limit of 2,000 Membership Rewards points. See terms for exclusions.
The offer is for 5 additional bonus points for purchases at Amazon.com. I checked my account from the AMEX app and saw the offer on my Green Business card and the Everyday Preferred (but not my Optima card).
I didn’t remember to go and check Sharon’s AMEX accounts until today. I feared that the offer might already be gone if the maximum number of people had already enrolled.
Fortunately, it was showing on her Everyday Preferred, Green Card and the Blue Business Plus card.
It was a no-brainer to attach the offer to the Blue Business Plus. Since that card already earns 2 points per dollar, with the bonus we’ll be making 7 Membership Rewards points for the next $400 spent at Amazon.com
You never know when AMEX will close the offer to new people. If you’re reading this, go right now and check your account. Once enrolled, you have until July to spend the $400.
Reminder, only cards that earn Membership Rewards are eligible, so no co-brand cards (Delta, Hilton or Marriott) will have the Amazon offer.
Thanks to Frequent Miler for their post about this offer.
