All decisions have consequences. Difficulties that arise down the road. Some of them you can see coming and others will just hit you out of nowhere.
But making a decision that puts a burden onto someone else seems unnecessary.
Like when you pick a name for your newborn child.
I know that Elon Musk is a busy man. He’s building rockets to take us to space and digging tunnels that will carry us between cities. In his spare time, he’s tweeting about how lockdowns take away our freedom and something about Tesla cars.
He did take a moment yesterday to Tweet that his girlfriend gave birth to their son and that mom and baby were both happy and healthy.
Shortly after that, he let everyone know the baby’s name. X Æ A-12
The baby’s mom, Canadian singer Grimes, explained the name in this article. But does the significance really matter?
More importantly, what does this have to do with travel? Well I can’t find it now, but one of the funniest responses I saw on Twitter to the news was a comment saying something to the effect of, Good luck getting that name to go through on a passport application.
Now when you’re rich, you can do whatever you want. Truthfully, you don’t have to be rich to give your newborn an unusual name. Anyone can do it.
Elon Musk and his girlfriend don’t care what we think. He has five children from a previous marriage and all of them have seemingly ordinary names. This is Grimes’ first child, so I’m guessing the name wasn’t all his idea.
I guess the happy parents aren’t worried about how their child will type this name into a website to buy a plane ticket when he’s going to be flying private jets his whole life. But if he does, is that just his first name or his full name?
So good luck X Æ A-12, you’ve got your work cut out for you.
