Happy Thursday to all of our travel friends, both near and far. Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Much of what is going to get people flying again is the feeling that they’ll be safe in the air. Heck, I’ve received enough emails from airlines telling me how in these unprecedented times, they care about my well being so much that they’re instituting new policies for their airline. A policy many airlines are touting is the requirement that all passengers will have to wear facemasks while onboard. But what if a passenger refuses? It looks like airline crews are being told not to enforce the rule. I wonder if this is the same thing that will happen when Disney World reopens to guests?
- Another post in the “Whatever good news we can find” category is that American Airlines will be bringing their parked Embraer regional jets back into service by June 3rd.
- While much has changed, it’s comforting to see that some things remain the same. Pandemic or not, passengers on Spirit are still misbehaving. We’ve seen stories about alleged sexual harassment by passengers. Now Spirit passengers are getting into fights onboard a redeye because one group was making too much noise, preventing the other passenger from sleeping.
- One thing that hasn’t changed during all of this is my view of United Airlines. Turns out they’re trying to convince even more people how terrible they are by redefining the term flight cancellation.
- Finally, I wanted to share a post from Grab A Mile. If you didn’t know, many bloggers you’re reading don’t do this as a full-time job (although some of them do). This blogger is a medical practice administrator/coordinator and shares a story of how easy it is for COVID-19 to spread in a place seemingly as isolated as West Texas, even when you’re trying to do everything right.
