My eyes tend to light up when I see information about a new points program. While scanning the internet, I found an article about the new Altitude Miles and Altitude Plus Miles loyalty programs. Private jet company GrandView Aviation offers these programs for people who book flights on their fleet of Embraer Phenom 300 jets. I quickly realized that this is not going to be a program I’d have much use for.
The free version of the program, Altitude Plus, has the following benefits:
- Earn miles as you fly that can be redeemed for catering, flight credits and more
- Flexible Cancellation Policy – All flight cancellation fees credited to account for future use *Oneway empty leg flights are excluded
- Member-Exclusive emails and Oneway/Empty Leg Specials
They also have the Altitude Plus Miles program. The membership fee includes prepaying $150,000 for a 10% discount on Flight Charges. Other benefits include:
- $200 Catering Credit- Receive a $200 credit per flight day when catering is ordered
- Earn miles as you fly that can be redeemed for catering, flight credits and more
- Flexible Cancellation Policy – All flight cancellation fees credited to account for future use* *Oneway empty leg flights are excluded
- Member-Exclusive emails and Oneway/Empty Leg Specials
- 10% Discount on Flight Charges when member is on flight (including family members or member company employees)
How much do flights with GrandView Aviation cost? According to their website, private charters start at $10,000. I found an article from 2018 that found prices from Austin, TX to New York starting at $26,750 and Austin to Aspen starting at $15,180. That’s a bit out of my price range.
I guess this program is for those who can afford to fly private but miss earning points as they used to when they still were flying on commercial jets.
