This Is Our “Must Have” Travel Accessory Of 2021

If there’s anything we’ve learned from 2020, what we need when we travel will be different for the near future. When we were flying across the country and around the world, and spending every night enjoying a new or old city, we hardly spent any time in our hotel room. Post-COVID, when we learned the joy of renting cabins from Airbnb and eating restaurant take-out, our evening activities were very different from before.

The biggest difference we experienced was when there were no places to go at night when you’re staying in a cabin on a mountain. After a long soak in the hot tub, it’s back into the cabin to watch television. Our first cabin spoiled us because it had a smart TV. We logged into our streaming accounts during the stay and remembered to log out when we left, unlike the previous guests.

While we had a great time at our second cabin rental, it didn’t take long for us to make a terrible realization. The cabin had a “DUMB” TV.  We had DirecTV with Spectrum, as well as a BluRay player, but we couldn’t watch any of our streaming accounts. We spent evenings watching movies like “The Karate Kid” with commercial interruptions. Who has time for commercials between “Wax on, wax off”?!?!

I’m hoping 2021 will bring normalization to travel but I’m not counting on that until the end of the year. Until then, we’re going to be staying at places where we can cook our own meals and spend most of our time in our living room – it just won’t be our living room at home.

That’s why I’ve ordered our must-have travel accessory of 2021—an Amazon Fire Stick.

I already have one of these at home but I’m too lazy to disconnect it when we travel. For $29.99, I can watch all of our streaming TV services wherever we are as long as the room has a WiFi connection.

When we get to a point where we no longer have to worry about leaving our room at night when traveling, I can retire the device to the bedroom.

I admit it’s not as big of a purchase as buying a pickup truck and trailer like Ed from Pizza in Motion, but I think it will be money well spent for the beginning of 2021.

What has become a necessary travel accessory for you in 2021?
