The Big Nude Boat Will Sail Again! Nudist Cruise Now Scheduled For Early 2022

Grab your bathing suit (or not)! – the Big Nude Boat Cruise has rescheduled!

We wrote in late 2019 that Bare Necessities, a tour group that focuses on vacations for nudists, had planned for their 75th “nude cruise” to occur in February, 2021. But then COVID happened in 2020 and there’s little to no chance that cruising will be back in early 2021. So, like just about everything else that’s happened in travel, that cruise was canceled and is now rescheduled to be on the Carnival Pride in February 2022.

Nudity is admittedly not for everyone. But for those who enjoy being nude, there are historically lots of “clothes-free” travel activities (they’re sometimes called “nakations,” which always makes me smile). There are nude beaches all over the world, as well as entire clothing-optional resorts (I wouldn’t recommend going to the resorts right now, though. Remember that nudist resort that wound up with 150 visitors who came down with COVID? Yeah, good times. Not.).

Another popular activity for enthusiasts of not wearing clothes is nude cruises. There are several of them out there, but the granddaddy of them all is called The Big Nude Boat. It’s a very popular cruise (and child-free – not like that family nudist day at that water park a while back. BTW, that group isn’t allowing kids anymore, due to protests), to the point that, for the first time ever, the 2022 cruise is going to be 2 weeks long instead of just 1 week. And lest anyone’s worried, the group charters the entire ship, so there won’t be any chance of non-group people encountering unexpected nudity (yeah…that would be awkward).

The cruise will leave Tampa on Sunday, February 13th. There will be stops on Panama, Colombia, Bonaire, Curacao, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Nassau, interspersed with days at sea, before coming back to Tampa on Sunday, Feb. 27th.

Go to this page of Bare Necessities’ website for more info (potential NSFW alert – some pages of their website includes photos of nude adults)
