I dreaded writing this post. If only for historical purposes, I wanted to write about our trips in 2020. Sure, I ended up canceling more flights than we took but when you’re living through once in a lifetime (hopefully) pandemic you have to adapt.
Here were my flight stats for 2019.
I flew 20 flight segments covering 29,191 miles. My longest flight was from London Gatwick to Orlando, covering 4,353 miles, and my shortest trip was from Frankfurt, Germany to Salzburg, Austria at 254 miles.
Here’s our flight map for 2020.
We flew 6,789 miles over 5 segments. Our longest flight was from SFO-MCO on Alaska, covering 2,446 miles and our shortest flight was from 944 miles from MCO-JFK.
Breakdown by airline:
- American – 3 flights
- Delta -1 flight
- Alaska – 1 flight
In February, when we landed in Orlando after our Alaska flight, I took this picture out of the plane window. Little did I know that it would be the last time I’d set foot on a plane in 2020. In fact, it will be well over a year from this picture before we’re going to get back on a plane again.
The first flight I have booked for 2021 is for our trip to Japan at the end of the year. I’m hoping we’ll be able to take a flight or two before then, but we’re waiting until we can get the vaccine. Hopefully, with the help of everyone else, we will see the number of cases decrease dramatically.
Until then, we’re grounded. Your Mileage May Vary.
