I’m sure more than a few people had their hearts skip a beat or two when searching for flights on Delta last night.
I was tipped off that something was wrong when a flight I am tracking with Google Flights showed a price change.
I decided to click through and see what was happening. When I went to the Delta website for booking, it showed a price for two First Class tickets.
Even when I went back and said to search for Basic Economy, this was the result.
The only flight showing was First Class.
I wasn’t the only one who noticed the problem. Stefan from Rapid Travel Chai let Delta know of the problem on Twitter.
I’m sure this was only a short-term glitch but it proves that even for Delta, which supposedly runs one of the better operations, IT is hard.
(Note: Delta has apparently fixed the problem and prices for the flight I searched are back at the previous amount.)
And hopefully, Delta didn’t force anyone booking last night to pay a First Class fare. If they did, remember that you have a 24-hour window to cancel.
