Easy Way To Board Early On Alaska Airlines This Week

by SharonKurheg

For the past several years, Alaska Airlines has a fun promotion around the holiday season. On National Ugly Holiday Sweater Day ( which is the third Friday of December – it’ll be on the 16th this year; plan ahead!), the airline has done amusing things such as gifting select passengers with holiday sweaters, having them buy Alaska Airlines-branded ugly sweaters (the proceeds went to charity) or allowing passengers wearing ugly holiday sweaters to board early.

Alaska Airlines is expanding on that theme this Wednesday, May 4th.

“May the force be with you” is, of course, a famous phrase from the Star Wars series of movies. Over the years, May 4th has become the unofficially official holiday for fans of the Star Wars saga, thanks to the tongue-in-cheek turn of the phrase.

I’m not a Star Wars fan, but I love the May 4th memes that pop up each year…

Anyway, back to Alaska Airlines…

To celebrate the Star Wars fan day of “May the Fourth (be with you),” the airline will offer guests who wear their favorite Star Wars gear the chance to board early.

From Alaska Airlines:

The one-day priority boarding promotion can be enjoyed by all guests on any Alaska Airlines flight throughout our network on Wednesday, May 4. When a guest wears any clothing item Star Wars-related, they’ll be able to board their flight just after Group B (which could stand for, say, Boba Fett). Guests should listen closely to the announcements by gate agents.

You can wear anything that’s “Star Warsy” – a T-shirt with Luke Skywalker on it, that Darth Vader cape you wore for Halloween one year. Heck, I bet I could even wear my Ewok hat!

So if you’re planning to fly Alaska this Wednesday, May 4th, and are in a boarding group that’s after Boarding Group B (here’s a master list of all the airlines that was written last summer. I checked and Alaska’s list is still the same), maybe grab a little Star Wars something to wear.

As Mando once said, “This is the way.”

And may the fourth be with you. And also with you.
