Singapore Airlines currently operates the two longest commercial flights in the world. The Singapore – Newark flight is 9,523 miles and the Singapore – JFK New York travels 15 more miles further, for a 9,537 journey. Both of these flights are operated by an A350-900ULR and the trip takes around 17 hours.
That’s about the same length as our trip from Los Angeles to Singapore on an A350-900, even though our flight was almost 1,000 miles shorter.
Apple is using the lengthy Singapore Airlines flights to promote the battery life of their MacBook Pro laptops.
Even the longest nonstop flight in the world is no match for the battery of MacBook Pro, with up to 22 hours of power. When you need a loooooong battery, you need Mac.

While Apple never mentions Singapore Airlines, it’s only a Google search away to find who has the world’s longest flight.
It’s true that the new MacBooks offer longer battery life than their competitors. However, you don’t need to worry about battery life on Singapore Airlines’ ultra-long flights. That’s because all of the seats are either business class or premium economy and every seat has a 110V plug and 2 USB outlets.
If you’re in the market for a new laptop, the MacBooks do have excellent battery life. However, don’t buy them because you’ll need that extended battery on Singapore Airlines.
