Play Airlines is a low-cost carrier based in Reykjavik, Iceland that offers flights between North America and Europe. From a number of Northeastern US airports, you can visit multiple European cities with a connection in Iceland.
Until May 5th, you’re able to purchase discounted Play gift cards, which will save 15% off on flights to one of Play’s 30 European destinations.
The gift cards can be purchased through this website. To get the deal, you’ll need to enter the promo code PLAYGIFT at checkout. In the example below, you can purchase a $300 gift card for $255 after the discount.
While many travel hackers might scoff at flying a low-cost carrier from the US to Europe, I don’t think it’s that bad. We flew in economy class to Iceland from New York on Icelandair and found the experience to be tolerable for the price. The flight is only 5-6 hours, which is the same as a NY-LAX trip, which we’ve done many times.
For many, saying 15% on an already discounted trip to Europe could mean the difference between taking a trip or not. We’re looking at a trip to Iceland in 2024 and I’m considering buying a gift card and saving 15% on our flights.
