The all-inclusive resort hotel market is booming right now and every hotel brand wants a piece of the rapidly expanding pie. Here are just some of the moves in the space over the past year or so:
- IHG is opening its first Kimpton all-inclusive resort
- The first Marriott-branded all-inclusive resort will be in Cancun
- Marriott opens the world’s first Luxury Collection all-inclusive adults-only resort
Previously, all-inclusive resorts were run by companies that specialized in that market. While I’m sure other hotel chains dabbled in all-inclusive properties, Hyatt was the first one that heavily promoted their dual offerings of Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara. Hyatt has gone full in and acquired Apple Leisure Group, making it the largest operator of all-inclusive hotels in the world.
Not wanting to be left out, the Accor hotel company has launched the ALL Inclusive Collection. Using a play on words from the Accor Live Limitless (ALL) loyalty program, Accor created a platform that includes all of their current all-inclusive offerings. Accor currently offers over 30 properties around the world operated under brands like Rixos, /SO and Swissôtel.
All the properties under the collection will include food and drinks, activities, and entertainment. Currently, the ALL Inclusive Collection has properties in the following countries:
- Croatia
- Egypt
- Kazakhstan
- Montenegro
- Qatar
- Spain
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
Most of the resorts in the collection are part of the Rixos brand. Operating for 20 years, Accor will use that experience to launch additional properties in the Hyde, Mondrian, SLS and Fairmont brands. ALL Inclusive Resorts expects to operate over 50 locations in the next 3 years.
While most other all-inclusive resorts from the major brands are located in the Caribbean and Mexico, Accor’s properties are spread across Europe. The only other major hotel chain in the European market is Hyatt which owns the Alua all-inclusive resorts mostly located in Spain.
