IHG Seems To Only Have One Promotion Anymore

There was a time of legend when IHG’s loyalty program was the champion of interesting hotel promotions. IHG sent targeted “Accelerate” offers to members potentially offering over 50,000 points for completing a series of tasks. Offers were based on your recent engagement with IHG and were fun trying to complete with as few stays as possible.

IHG kept watering down the offerings with every new promotion, eventually dropping the Accelerate name. Since then, we’ve been signing up for offers named “Free Nights Faster” or “2,000 Points Every 2 Nights.” Not much originality in those names but it matches the originality in the offers.

In fact, you may have noticed a similarity in the IHG promotions over the past year:

For the newest global promotion, IHG is going back to the well one more time with the “2,000 Points Every 2 Nights” promotion. Essentially the same offer as the one this spring; IHG will provide 2,000 bonus points for every 2 nights for stays between October 12, 2023, and December 31. 2023.

You can pre-register now or at any time during the promotional period. Procrastinators beware, room nights that are part of a stay completed before registration for the promotion are not included. So it makes sense to register now instead of forgetting to do it before a stay.

You can register at the IHG One Rewards website: https://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/deals/member-offers/2k2n

Only paid stays booked through IHG count. The following reservations are not eligible for bonus points:

You have to go back to Summer 2022 to find an IHG Global promotion offering anything besides 2,000 points/2 nights or 10,000 points for 4 nights. It looks like IHG One Rewards has found a promotion they like and they’re going to keep offering it.

We rarely stay at IHG hotels on paid rates since we have 4 free night certificates in addition to paying for rooms with points. However, if you often stay at inexpensive IHG hotels, you can rack up a few extra points until the end of the year.
