I gotta tell ya that when it comes to traveling, I am allllll about making things better or easier. That’s why I’ve shared so many hacks through the years:

However sometimes you’ll come a cross a hack that just goes flat out wrong.

Flight attendants fly for a living so I trust them to know the ins and outs of flying better than we do. That being said, it doesn’t mean they get things right all the time. The flight attendant who said to not wear shorts on a plane, for example.
In that vein, a woman who claims she’s a flight attendant, Cierra Mistt has pages on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter (sorry…X) and OnlyFans…maybe even more. Known as Cierra Huffman in real life, some of her entries revolve around her life in UT, but most are more about being a FA. A lot of her videos show her in what appears to be a FA uniform, but with much more cleavage showing than a FA would at work. She also does self-described “spicy” stories sometimes, and some of her videos include adult subject matter.
Huffmann’s history on social media has been, let’s say, dramatic. She’s been fired from her job at Republic Airways. She was kicked off TikTok for a short time after hundreds of flight attendants complained about her, etc. And with good reason…there’s a long history of her flight “advice” being questionable.
Anyway, one of her more recent videos was entitled “Flight Secrets ALL Passengers NEED to Know (P 1)” Some of it was advice and other things that passengers have heard/read a bajillion times over:
- Don’t walk barefoot into the lavatory (“I can promise you that the liquid on the floor is not water and you don’t want to be stepping in it.”)
- The bathroom is rarely cleaned.
- The only things the airplane cleaners ever deep cleaned during Covid were the tray tables and seat belts. Nowadays they just tidy up and empty the trash.
- If a plane still gives you a wipe, use it to clean the window because they’re never cleaned.
But the first thing she said was the one that made me scratch my head and go, “Huh?”
Don’t use the toilet paper. Use the paper towels. It’s higher quality and it won’t rip or dissolve like the toilet paper will.
Yeah ummmm….it’ll also clog the toilet if enough people do it. And then you’ll be down a lavatory for the rest of the trip. Maybe the rest of the day.
Yeah…dumb idea.
Of course the toilet paper on a plane sucks – that’s so, just like on a ship, it will quickly and easily dissolve and NOT make a clog. Just use extra, if you have to. Don’t use the paper towels instead. Sheesh!
