It’s been a considerable amount of time since Nobu revealed their plans to open a hotel in Orlando. The developers purchased the land in 2018 after the Great Wolf Lodge project was abandoned. However, it wasn’t until 2022 that Nobu officially announced its plans for the hotel. While the press release didn’t mention the exact location, local reporters were able to determine that the hotel would be built on around 50 acres of vacant property, situated just north of the Orlando Marriott World Center Resort.
The Nobu website says the area will feature 300 rooms including eight villas, a Nobu restaurant, 50 branded residences, and meeting and event spaces. That’s a large plot of land for just a 300-room hotel.
Now we know that Nobu will be a part of another large development in the Orlando market. According to an article in Growthspotter:
Planning firm EDSA designed the conceptual master plan calling for four hotels with a combined 1,934 keys and a retail/dining/entertainment center comprising 16 restaurants with seating for 2,600 diners and an entertainment venue with a capacity of 1,625 guests. The master plan also includes 270 apartments designated as Club Membership Units and a 26,000-square-foot spa.
Besides the 300-room Nobu, there will be an additional 3 hotels to provide a combined 1,934 keys. The plan shows multiple pools, waterslides and a lazy river associated with the hotels. This plan makes more sense for a plot of land that size.
The master plan filed with the county doesn’t specify how Nobu will fit into the larger resort area. Additionally, it doesn’t mention the other hotels planned for the development.
The Nobu Orlando website now says the hotel will be “COMING 2026”
