A Tour of the World’s Largest Cabin on a Cruise Ship

by SharonKurheg

For some people, money is no object. They’ll own several multi-million dollar homes around the world. They think nothing of spending several million dollars on a Rolls-Royce or Lamborghini. And if they enjoy cruising, $30k for a week in the largest cabin on one of the largest cruise ships in the world is likely just a drop in the bucket.

Bryan James works on Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas, which had its inaugural sailing in 2021. The ship is 1,138 feet long and has a gross tonnage of 167,704, making it the 32nd largest cruise ship in the world.

Bryan’s a TikTokker who makes videos to give fans a view of ship life from the point of view of someone working on a cruise ship. Last fall, he put up two videos of what he said was the world’s biggest cruise ship cabin, which, according to him, cost $30,000 a week.

The cabin consists of two floors and Bryan claims it’s about 40 times bigger than his regular ship residence.

In the video, he says: “It’s not just about its size, there’s so much going on in this room.

“There’s a slide from the kids’ bedroom down to the first floor, and if you’re staying in this room and you’re not super into the slide idea, you can just walk up and down these piano stairs instead.”

So to get from the second floor to the first floor, you have a choice of a private slide, or a staircase that plays a tune when you step on it – and you can choose what song you want the staircase to play (and yep, Taylor Swift is an option)

Bryan continues, “To top it all off you have this huge balcony, your own hot tub, and a personal butler on call 24/7.” Yeah, cuz y’all know how I feel about having a butler LOLOL.

Trying to explain all the details of the suite is nearly impossible, so here are the 2 videos Bryan made:

I think it costs $30,000 per week. Worth it.

That’s…pretty impressive.

At the time, the Family Townhome on Odyssey of the Seas, at 1,300 square feet, may well have been the world’s biggest cruise ship cabin. But since Icon of the Seas debuted a few months ago, not only is it currently the largest cruise ship in the world, but its version of the Family Townhome is even bigger, at 1,772 square feet (and more expensive too – $100k!). I found a video of that one, too:

The Family Townhome of the Icon of the Seas is only temporarily the largest cabin out there. Apparently, The Four Seasons’ luxury yacht, once finished, will contain the Funnel Suite, a 9,500-ft four-story penthouse space.

Plans are already underway to make it one of the most luxurious cruise suites in the world (well, of course! It’s the Four Seasons!), but it’s not set to sail until the end of 2025. So, until then, Royal Caribbeans gets to have the largest luxury cabin around.

Several cruise lines currently have suites larger than Icon of the Seas’ ultimate family suite. Celebrity’s Edge class Iconic suites. Oceania’s Owner Suites. Regent’s Regent Suites, just to name a few – are 2x the size of these suites and a level of luxury that doesn’t really even compare.
