Since the partnership began in 2022, I’ve been earning Delta SkyMiles for my Starbucks purchases. You can link your Delta SkyMiles and Starbucks Rewards accounts and earn one mile per dollar spent at Starbucks. You also get double stars on the days you’re traveling with Delta.
There were supposed to be exclusive offers to earn stars and miles, but I never saw anything about this from Delta or Starbucks. Well, until yesterday.
My Starbucks Delta SkyMiles Offer
I saw several places writing about a targeted offer from Starbucks: You could receive 500 SkyMiles for making three purchases with your linked Starbucks account. I went to my email and yep, I saw a message from Starbucks, too.
I have to make 4 visits before March 31st to earn the same 500 miles.
To be fair, this is going to be an easy 500 miles to earn, as I would visit Starbucks that often anyway. But I find it interesting that this targeted offer changes the number of visits required, presumably based on how often you regularly visit Starbucks.
Why I’d Prefer This Offer To Other Starbucks Promotions.
Starbucks promotions used to be decent. You’d get bonuses for doing a little more than your usual visits. However, they’ve gone to providing offers for things I’m not going to do. For example, I’ve received bonus offers for visiting in the afternoon or spending over $20 on a single purchase. Neither of these are I usually do, and I’m not going to change my behavior for a few stars.
However, I’ll visit four times a week to earn 500 SkyMiles. That’s only worth about $5, but it’s better than nothing. I’m not even mad that Starbucks and Delta are making me work harder than others to earn the same miles.
