ResortPass: How to Access 5-Star Resort Amenities Without Staying at the Hotel

It’s probably happened to you or someone you know. You’ve disembarked from your cruise at 8am, or checked out of your hotel at 11am, but your flight isn’t until 10pm. Or maybe you’re at home and are looking for a cheap 1-day staycation with friends and/or family.

You might be able to find something to do for a few hours, but you’d still have to worry about your luggage and/or what to do after you’ve played two rounds of mini golf.

A program called ResortPass may be able to help you.

What’s ResortPass?

Founded in 2016 by American entrepreneur Amanda Szabo, ResortPass allows you to connect with over 1,000 hotels in 250 cities in 35 states and 27 countries around the world, so you can take advantage of their amenities – breathtaking pools, private beaches, deluxe spas, lovely cabanas, and top fitness facilities – without having to stay at the hotel.

The site is easy to use: Type in the city, state, or zip code of the area you’re interested in, and the platform will list associated hotels and their respective offers. From there, you just start browsing options. Once you find a resort that interests you, you can purchase your resort pass for the date of your choice (it can be tomorrow, next week, next month…it all depends on availability).

Each hotel is in charge of what they offer, so some offers are admittedly better or worse than others. Here are some examples:

TWA Hotel

Joe and I have stayed at the TWA Hotel a couple of times. We’ve always found it interesting that they charge hotel guests for use of their pool, but to the hotel’s credit, they charge ResortPass guests the same $25 Adult/$10 Child to be able to use the pool for the same one hour and 45 minutes.

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is a gorgeous resort in Kauai, HI. Joe and I stayed here in 2022 (here’s our review of the hotel itself, and this post goes into the outdoor amenities they offered), so we’re familiar with the property.

This property offers a variety of activities through Resort Pass:

Their prices are high, but they’re also a high-end resort, and you’re allowed to stay until at least 5 pm, depending on what package you reserve.

Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport

The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is contained within MCO. We stayed here for one night a couple of years ago, when we had a very early flight the next morning.

This hotel offers a day room (starting at $159 for a max of 4 people) or a meeting suite (starting at $199 for a max of 6 people), which automatically gives you access to the hotel’s amenities, including the pool.

Located inside the main terminal at MCO, our Orlando airport hotel is the perfect work hub for those on the move. The hotels soundproof newly renovated rooms invite you to work in peace and enjoy amazing runway views, all just an escalator ride from the airport security checkpoints. Unwind with incredible seasonal service on the sun-splashed pool deck and watch the planes jet off into the heavens as you absorb the Florida sun. Take a refreshing dip and relax with fresh salads and appetizers, cool cocktails and signature sandwiches from the room service menu.

Resort pass also has opportunities in Mexico, Canada, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jamaica, Panama, Peru, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Martin, St. Barts, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

ResortPass gets good reviews and only offers hotels with which they have agreements. If you want to enjoy the amenities of a resort without necessarily staying there overnight, it could be a good option.
