Ex-NFL Pro Bowler Says TSA Searches Him Due to His “Man Parts”

by SharonKurheg

A lot of people don’t really like going through the TSA security checkpoint. And that’s understandable. It’s crowded. It can be a long queue. Overall, it can be pretty stressful, especially if you’re not totally familiar with the procedure (here are all the ins and outs, and dos and donts).

But for some people, it’s even worse because they seem to get flagged for a pat down virtually every single time they go through the security checkpoint. And apparently Ex-NFL Pro Bowler T.J. Ward is one of them.

Ward was a safety in the NFL for eight seasons. He was a second-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns, and he played for them from 2010 to 2013 (he earned second-team All-Pro honors in his final season on his rookie contract in 2013). He then played for the Denver Broncos from 2014 to 2016 (he was with the Broncos when they won Super Bowl 50 over the Carolina Panthers) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2017 season. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 before announcing his retirement in 2021.

Ward, the TSA, and his “man parts”

Anyway, Ward was flying a couple of weeks ago and was flagged for a pat down. Apparently, not for the first time, based on the tirade he then put on Twitter (currently known as X).

Had Mr. Ward read our post about why some people are seemingly always picked for a pat down, he might have understood the process a little better (AND what he could do to maybe stop it from happening).

wasn’t there a (gay) tsa agent who asked his colleague to flag attractive men to pad down? And they changed the rule that the agents cannot flag individuals anymore?

No idea. But despite what Ward was saying, I’m sure it was the scanner that was flagging him. And, like we said in the piece, had he read our post we wrote about why some people continually set the scanners off (link was in the post above), he would have understood what he needed to do to potentially make it stop.
