When will people learn that if you do something bad, chances are good (A) people are going to find out, and (B) you’re going to pay the consequences. The backlash on the Delta Diamond Medallion member, who made it a habit to tattle on flight attendants in order to earn SkyMiles, is an excellent example.

And now: cheating guy

We’ve learned about another story now…this one involves a man named Lynn (potentially sometimes known as Bryan or Scott, but that’s not confirmed) who allegedly met a woman, Katy, at an airport bar in Houston. Turned out they were going to be on the same flight (#2140) to New York, so arranged so they could sit next to each other on the plane. They spent the entire flight talking and being kind of flirty, despite Lynn wearing a wedding band. The moment when he pulled his shirt up to show her his tattoo was particularly icky.

Ew.

A TikTok video from someone across the aisle has gone viral, with over 10 million views in the first 21 hours alone and over 20 million views by this morning, because the videographer, @carolinerended, wanted Lynn’s wife to know what he was up to.

From that point forward, Sunday at roughly 10:30 pm ET, the internet was on him. Here are some highlights:

— Someone reported that according to FlightTracker24, their flight landed at 12:02am.

— TokTokker Myndie Brooke found the video of Jr Shooting Stars at the Astros game (where he daughter was to have performed), “but no woman, he had a younger daughter w him. Blue shirt with orange on the side right next to the tunnel where they go out.” So they had now confirmed it was (most likely, according to appearance) the same man in both videos.

— He apparently made it onto a FB group called “Are We Dating The Same Guy? / Dallas / Forth Worth / DFW,” where they posted his TikTok and Instagram names.

About 4 hours after the original video, @carolinered posted an update:

But the saga continued…

— Monday, about 2pm: According to Heather Warren, he deleted his Facebook. His wife also deleted her FB AND switched her TikTok to private…so you KNOW she knows.

Some other random observations of things that people wrote:

• A divorce lawyer in CA offered her service.
• “Me to my husband as he’s walking out the door for a work trip: “If you decide to act up, TikTok has my back.” Him: looking hella confused “what?” Have a good trip dear 😂” — Courtney
• He even lifted his shirt so the wife could identify his torso tattoo 🤣💀 — Ari

Of course, it’s all pretty tragic

There’s more…much, much more (although many of the comments are just a couple of words so TikTok’s algorithm will bring them back to the thread). Like, close to 30,000 comments in less than 24 hours and nearly 40,000 comments by this morning.

On the one hand, it’s amazing and admirable how a bunch of ordinary citizens were able to identify this guy on the internet in such a very short period of time.

But on the other hand, assuming that things are as they appear and this is more than just a conclusion people are jumping to, it’s a very tragic situation. Some married guy, who has at least 1 kid, is cheating on his wife with some woman he met at an airport bar, they made out on the plane and he miiiiight have gone to her hotel room afterwards? That’s awful. Terrible. I feel horribly for the wife and their kid or kids.

A few people suggested all might not be as it seems – maybe this guy and his wife are in the midst of divorcing. Maybe they have an open marriage. They could be swingers. We just don’t know.

Although, for what it’s worth, it doesn’t appear this is his first time. A comment on Facebook (it’s being discussed EVERYWHERE) said, “Apparently he is a serial cheater. Was posted on a “are we dating the same man” page 2 years ago.”

Wow.

But if nothing else, it teaches that if you do something you shouldn’t, chances are good that (A) people will find out and (B) you’ll pay the consequences.

And a word for @carolinerended is probably for her to watch her back. She probably has enough on her own TikTok account where she could be “found” as well. People who think they’ve been wronged have been known to do crazy things. Hopefully, she stays safe.
