Get Ready for Luxury: Orlando’s First Kimpton Hotel Opening in 2027

by joeheg

Forget what you think you know about Orlando. While the theme parks get all the attention, the Downtown area has its own share of excitement to offer. From the electrifying energy of the Kia Center hosting sports and concerts to the performances at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center (DPAC), there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out on the exhilarating matches at the INTER&Co Stadium, home to the Orlando City and Pride soccer teams. And, of course, nothing beats the thrill of a big event or football game at Camping World Stadium.

Hotel development in the downtown area has been slow in the last couple of years, with most of the local hotels being part of Marriott Bonvoy. The only major addition was the AC Hotel, which opened between the Kia Center and DPAC.

That’s why I was thrilled to hear that Orlando will be getting its first Kimpton property.

The Kimpton will consist of 261 rooms and be part of the new Westcourt development. The development will also include 300,000 square feet of office space, 120,000 square feet of space for dining and entertainment, as well as 1.5 acres of outdoor common areas. Additionally, there will be a 3,500-person venue for live events. The hotel itself will feature 16,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, a full-service restaurant and lobby bar, a café, and a pool bar and lounge.

As with all Kimpton hotels, the property will also offer amenities such as Kimpton Kickstart morning coffee and tea service, Kimpton Social every evening, a “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” program, in-room yoga mats, and pet-friendly policies.

The project will be a partnership with JMA Ventures, which was also involved in developing the Kimpton Sawyer in Sacramento. The Kimpton Orlando is scheduled to open in 2027 and will be located next to the Kia Center, the home of the Orlando Magic professional basketball team.

This will be the seventh Kimpton hotel in Florida.

Kimpton is luxury? Compared to a Holiday Inn Express perhaps?
